Jean-Claude Marchionni Stone Sculptor
A carved mahogany vanity in a small powder room: a dark, polished base on slender cabriole legs, its serpentine apron carved at the center with a full rosette between sprays of acanthus and leafy garlands, and acanthus carved down the corner blocks; above, a shaped cream marble top with an undermounted white basin and cross-handle faucets.

Mahogany Vanity with Marble Top

Wood · Private residence, Bergen County, NJ

A vanity base carved in mahogany in the manner of an eighteenth-century console — a rosette and acanthus sprays across the serpentine apron, cabriole legs below. Only the mahogany base is carved by Jean-Claude Marchionni — the cream marble top is not his work.
